Ellen Grove is a business agility coach, trainer, and organizational change agent with Agile Partnership. Based in Ottawa, Canada, Ellen works with organizations of all sizes in Canada and abroad to help them put Agile thinking and practice into action throughout the organization. Working with all levels from the C-suite to the delivery teams, Ellen favours experiential approaches for getting people to talk with each other about the things that really matter so that they can do great work together. Ellen organizes Agile events locally and internationally (most recently Business Agility Conference 2017 in NYC) and she presents frequently at Agile conferences around the world. Ellen is a director of the Agile Alliance, an international non-profit association which serves the Agile software development community.

Becoming agile and turning "how" into "why"

The session objective is to provide an overview of current-state thinking and culture as it relates to how we approach problems at the personal, project, and organizational level. The workshop will provide and understanding of current state waterfall approaches, an introduction to Agile thinking and methods, with particular focus on leadership approaches, managing teams and developing organizational Agile strategy.
